Biography - Mary Banks
Mary is the Chief Strategy Officer and a mentor at Active Life. She lives in a beautiful coastal town in Connecticut with her husband, son, and two crazy dogs.
After getting into running and ending up with an injury that sidelined her back in 2011, she found CrossFit and quickly fell into coaching and then gym ownership. She owned a gym with her husband for nearly six years before going all-in on her position at Active Life.
She and her husband were one of the first clients in Active Life’s Pro Path, and from what they learned and applied, they were able to take their gym from $15,000 per month to $30,000 per month in recurring revenue in less than a year.
She began working for Active Life in 2020 by creating the then-titled “Foundations” course for gym owners, which now makes up the Financial Literacy courses in the curriculum.
Life outside of work looks like getting to the beach and on the water as much as possible, whether that’s boating, surfing, paddle boarding, or just chasing her son around. And of course, she enjoys sustainable practical fitness and has the perfect garage gym for it.
“The best asset we have for making a contribution to the world is ourselves. If we underinvest in ourselves, and by that I mean our minds, our bodies, and our spirits, we damage the very tool we need to make our highest contribution.” - Greg Mckeown
